AI Platform Migration Engineer
E. Providence, RI
Job Description:
Location: This position requires the candidate to work onsite in Renton, WA, with some hybrid flexibility.
Overview
We’re looking for a hands-on Migration Engineer to lead our enterprise transition from multiple AI platforms (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, and others) onto a single, standardized “golden provider.” This is an execution-focused role: you won’t just architect the plan, you’ll do the migration work yourself, with support from an embedded FTE engineer for coding tasks.
You’ll work directly with individual users and teams to understand how they currently use AI tools and rebuild those workflows on the new platform without losing functionality or outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead platform migration and infrastructure transformation efforts to consolidate AI tools into a single enterprise-standard provider
- Design and build a repeatable migration practice/playbook for moving teams and workloads onto the golden provider
- Configure and troubleshoot MCP (Model Context Protocol) connectors across systems
- Migrate custom implementations (e.g., custom GPTs, bespoke chat/search tools) into Claude while preserving the original outcome and functionality
- Partner directly with individual users and teams to migrate their day-to-day workloads
What We’re Looking For
- Strong, hands-on prompt engineering skills — comfortable investigating how an existing AI workflow behaves before rebuilding it
- A “detective” mindset: curious, resourceful, and comfortable diagnosing ambiguous problems rather than working from a fixed spec
- Genuine fluency with modern AI tools — you use them yourself, understand why and when to use them, and can speak to their tradeoffs and benefits
- Bias toward execution: someone who delivers finished migrations, not just migration plans
Technical Skills
- Programming languages: proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript — the primary languages for the Claude Agent SDK and for building/configuring MCP servers
- API & integration literacy: comfortable reading and translating between platform-specific API and function-calling schemas (e.g., mapping a custom GPT’s Actions or a Copilot extension onto Claude’s tool-use format)
- Claude Skills authoring: able to build and structure Claude Skills (Markdown with YAML frontmatter, plus optional bundled scripts, typically Python)
- Prompt engineering: skilled at designing, testing, and refining prompts to replicate — and improve on — existing AI workflows
- Working knowledge of MCP (Model Context Protocol): understands how connectors are configured and troubleshot across systems
- Basic data/reporting skills: SQL or spreadsheet-level analysis sufficient to monitor token usage and cost trends
Pay Range: $75.00 – $85.00 per hour, depending upon experience.
Health & Medical Benefits, 401K, Employee Assistance Program, and Sick Time applicable by state.
