Senior Front End UX Designer/Engineer

Job Description:
Our client is looking for a Senior Front End Designer/Engineer with a strong focus on frontend architecture and user experience design and development. You’ll play a critical role in delivering high-quality, scalable, and user-friendly digital products in a cloud-native environment.

Key Responsibilities
Frontend Architecture and Development

• Define and implement scalable, organized, and streamlined frontend architecture
• Leverage and contribute to shared UI component libraries and design systems
• Build and maintain both shared and local UI components

UX Engineering

• Act as a crucial link between design and development teams
• Collaborate closely with designers to ensure visual and functional fidelity
• Apply user-centered design principles throughout the development lifecycle
• Experience with Figma developer tools is a plus

Documentation

• Create and maintain comprehensive frontend documentation to help others in the team
• Experience with Storybook is a strong plus

Functional Quality Assurance

• Conduct reviews and testing to ensure high frontend code quality
• Identify, document, and resolve UI/UX issues
• Uphold high standards for design implementation and interactivity

Responsive design and Accessibility

• Implement responsive designs using grid systems
• Ensure accessibility compliance with organizational standards

Optimizing Performance

• Optimize frontend performance for speed and resource efficiency

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

• Work cross-functionally with backend developers, designers, and other team members
• Participate in requirement discussions and feature design

General Engineering Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver scalable APIs and services
• Participate in large-scale implementations, including CI/CD automation, monitoring, and instrumentation
• Write unit, integration, and performance tests
• Use Agile methodologies to iteratively deliver functional and testable software
• Engage in system integration, documentation, and performance tuning

Skills and Qualifications

• Frontend Proficiency: High level of proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Frameworks: Angular preferred; React or other modern frameworks acceptable
• Tools: Figma (strong plus), Storybook (strong plus), CI/CD tools
• Strong plus: Practical knowledge of implementing Accessibility features in web and mobile applications
• Languages (plus): Proficiency in C#, TypeScript, and Node.js
• Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
• Experience: 5+ years as a software engineer with a track record of technical accomplishments
• Education: Bachelor’s level education, Computer Science preferred

Pay Range: $65.00 – $75.00 per hour, depending upon experience.
