This position is fully remote in the US.
What You’ll Do
- Champion the design, development, and delivery of cloud-native backend services supporting internal tools and integrations with Salesforce and other internal platforms
- Define and evolve API contracts (REST and GraphQL) with an emphasis on scalability, performance, and observability
- Contribute to architectural decisions, particularly around microservices vs monolith trade-offs, in a real-world production context
- Collaborate closely with engineers, product owners, analysts, and Salesforce developers to translate business needs into working software
- Own the full service lifecycle—from development and CI/CD to infrastructure and deployment
- Champion observability practices including structured logging, monitoring, and instrumentation
- Drive engineering excellence by leading design reviews, contributing to post-mortems, and documenting key decisions and patterns
- Proactively manage technical debt and enable platform scalability through thoughtful system design and domain ownership
Who You Are
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience, including leadership of complex projects or services
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related field?
- Strong proficiency in modern backend languages such as Kotlin/Java, C#, TypeScript, Python (Polyglot experience required)
- Hands-on experience with backend frameworks like Ktor, Spring Boot, or NestJS
- Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures and AWS services (Lambda, ECS, RDS, Fargate, Load Balancers). Equivalent experience with GCP or Azure will be acceptable.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (CDK, CloudFormation, YAML)
- Strong experience designing APIs and managing backend data layers with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Experienced in Agile working culture, delivering solutions in small iterations with focus on quality and completeness
- Capable of independently setting up services, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure with secure authentication
- Self-directed and adaptable—able to quickly navigate unfamiliar codebases and development environments
- Passionate about mentoring, documenting, and fostering a culture of ownership and excellence
- Experience integrating with Salesforce APIs or designing services for Salesforce consumption is a plus
Pay Range: $70.00 – $78.00 per hour, depending upon experience.
