Sr. Software Engineer

Our client has an opportunity to join our engineering team as a Senior Software Engineer, focused on delivering cloud-native applications that support our core technology platforms.

What You’ll Do

• Design and develop scalable backend services and APIs using cloud-native patterns in AWS.
• Write clean, testable code primarily in Python, along with complementary experience in other backend languages.
• Ensure systems are instrumented for observability, including logging, tracing, and metrics.
• Collaborate on improving CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices to increase delivery confidence.
• Participate in design and code reviews, contributing to high technical standards and shared learning.
• Work closely with product and other engineering teams to align technical work with business goals.
• Actively participate in evaluating and improving system performance, reliability, and operational maturity.
• Contribute to engineering practices that support long-term scalability and maintainability.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field OR relevant accredited technical certification, OR equivalent work experience.
• 6+ years of experience in software engineering, ideally with large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong experience with Python and at least one of the following – Java, .NET, Go, or other
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS as a primary cloud environment.
• Experience designing and building backend APIs and services in production environments.
• Familiarity with containers and serverless patterns (e.g., Docker, ECS, Lambda).
• Understanding of observability best practices, including logs, traces, metrics, and alerts.
• A mindset of ownership and accountability, with strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as React is a plus, but not required.

Pay Range: $70.00 – $80.00 per hour, depending upon experience.
