Sr. AWS Terraform Engineer

Job Description/Skills:
This position will require the candidate to work a 50/50 split, working in the Bothell and/or Bellevue office and working from home.
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Terraform expert with extensive experience in setting up and managing AWS Data Lake infrastructure using Terraform. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of Terraform best practices, AWS services such as IAM, Lake Formation, and data-related services. This individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Terraform configurations for our client’s AWS Data Lake environment, ensuring central governance and compliance. Additionally, they will provide training, knowledge transfer, and guidance to the team on Terraform best practices and AWS Data Lake management.
Requirements:
- Expert-level skills in Terraform, with a deep understanding of Terraform best practices.
- Strong experience in setting up and managing AWS Data Lake infrastructure using Terraform.
- In-depth knowledge of AWS services, including IAM, Lake Formation(LF tags, multi account setup), and data-related services.
- Experience with Terraform workspaces, agents, and other related components.
- Strong understanding and experience working with terraform code setting up AWS Data Lake environments with Producer, Consumer and Central governance accounts.
- Excellent training and knowledge transfer skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills, resolving errors in terraform, with the ability to reverse engineer and develop new Terraform code.
- Strong DevOps practices, including:
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and Azure Devops.
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and practices.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
- Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
- Understanding of monitoring and logging best practices.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with other infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, such as AWS CloudFormation or Azure Resource Manager.
Pay Range: $70.00 – $80.00 per hour, depending upon experience.
