The Senior Project Manager is responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating project teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in the delivery of mission critical public safety and telecommunications technologies and services. The Senior Project Manager will manage several concurrent high visibility projects in a fast-paced environment that may cross multiple teams both internal and external including Software Development, Operations, Service Delivery, and/or customer and partner teams. Successful candidates have a solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of multiple project management methodologies with the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit specific project and business needs. May fulfill the role of Software Project Manager for one or more teams and Deployment Project Manager at the same time on another project or phase.


·      Project Planning and Management – Provide facilitation that leads the team in defining project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; organize and lead project status and working meetings; prepare and distribute progress reports; manage risks and issues; correct deviations from plans; perform delivery planning for assigned projects

·      Partnership and Governance – Partner with product management and other stakeholders to manage customer expectations for project deliverables; manage stakeholder communications; implement an effective system of project transparency and governance

·      Process Management and Improvement – Support PMO practices and initiatives and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for agile and/or traditional Project Management; facilitate PMO skill growth through knowledge sharing of project management tools and methodologies; assist with ISO compliance and audits

·      Team Building and Facilitation – Facilitate collaboration and promote empowerment of the team, ensuring that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution; encourage a sustainable pace with high-levels of quality from the team; hold the team accountable for their commitments; remove roadblocks; facilitate creativity to solve for critical business needs; and mentor team members in best practices and continuous improvement

·      Effective Customer Engagement – Develop solid deployment plans that account for operational business, and customer needs and impacts, and effectively engage customer and provide the right level of transparency. Interact with clients effectively balancing expectations with project reality.



·      Demonstrated leadership, organizational skills, planning skills, and technical depth

·      Balanced business/technical background – sufficient level of technical background to provide highly-credible leadership to technology teams and to be able to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues.

·      A proven track record of successfully implementing large-scale software development projects through all project phases in a high-tech development environment with cross-functional teams

·      Ability to provide leadership and facilitate collaboration with large, cross-functional project teams including developers, QA, system and operations engineers, partners and customers to develop strategies and solutions of high business value

·      Ability to work through matrix management of diverse teams to meet aggressive delivery schedules

·      Ability to prioritize and escalate where appropriate

·      Proven ability to work in a fast paced, self-directed environment

·      Strong communication and presentation skills

·      Quality orientation with a strong eye for detail

·      Knowledge of SCRUM/Agile methodologies for enterprise-level application development projects

·      Deployment experience in Telecommunications industry and/or Emergency 9-1-1 service is preferred


·      Bachelor's degree, preferably in a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) or related field

·      MBA desired

·      Seven (7) to ten (10) years of direct project management experience in Software Development and/or Telecommunications and technology deployment projects

·      Experience with new business rollouts and/or delivery of professional services

·      Customer facing project management experience

·      Project Management Certification – CSM, PMP and/or ACP or equivalent preferred

·      Proficiency in Windows, MS Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, Powerpoint

·      ISO and/or TL 9000 experience desired

Pay Range: $64.00 – $75.00 per hour depending upon experience.
