Lead Sr. Network Engineer

Job Description

The Lead Senior Network Engineer will be a hands on supervisory role responsible for all technical and service delivery aspects of the network environment for the Seattle and Minneapolis offices including network security, LAN connectivity, WAN connectivity, Internet, partner circuits and QoS. The ideal candidate will not only possess the strong technical requirements outlined below but will also be energetic, flexible and committed to excellence.

The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, deploying and maintaining highly available networks and enjoys working in a team oriented goal-driven environment.  The individual must have strong hands-on operational and troubleshooting skills for production data centers.  The ideal candidate will also have experience supporting VoIP and video services.  Experience working in the financial services industry is a plus.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Primarily responsible for the execution of all network projects specifically those involving the design, maintenance and new feature implementation
  • Direct supervision of Parametric network engineering staff to include goal setting, task and performance management
  • Provide support and assist with projects by other IT groups and business units that require network engineering aspects
  • Install and maintain all routers and switches in various network configurations support VLANs, QoS, VoIP and advanced routing (OSPF, BGP) security protocols
  • Provide Tier 3 escalation in troubleshooting complex Infrastructure technical issues
  • Participate in a rotational on-call schedule with other members of the network team
  • Maintains network in a manner that meets organizations security, configuration and availability objectives
  • Recognize areas of network improvement and recommend solutions
  • Maintain accurate documentation off all aspects of the enterprise network
  • Maintain enterprise wireless solution including feature enhancements, security controls, and monitoring
  • Collaborate closely with the overall corporate IT team including site visits to Boston and Minneapolis
  • Assist the IT Security Office in support of technologies such as Firewall, IDS/IPS, SPAN aggregators, packet analysis systems, firewall design, and network forensics

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience with routing and switching in both wide area and local area networks
  • CCNP certification preferred; commiserate experience also considered
  • Experience in an enterprise sized, global organization with stringent requirements for network availability highly desirable
  • Experiences in supporting network in a highly virtualized server environment
  • Experience with Change Management and Configuration processes, specifically knowledge of the ITIL v3 framework
  • Excellence in testing and documentation of procedures
  • Expert in Cisco’s product line of routers and switches including but not limited to: Nexus 2k/5k/9k, Catalyst 3850s, 6500 VSS, 2900/3900/4000 routers
  • Expertise with protocols including but not limited to OSPF, BGP, RPVST, 802.1q, SNMP
  • Knowledge of network security products a major plus, including Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, IPSec and SSL VPNs, Bluecoat Proxy
  • Experience in supporting iSCSI storage protocols a plus
  • Experience in supporting Cisco Meraki Wireless technology a plus
  • Knowledge of F5 LTM and GTM appliances
  • Experience with Nagios XI, Infoblox NetAutomation  and Splunk a plus
