Job Title: Jr. Account Executive

Department: Sales

Reports To: Business Development VP

Summary: The Jr. Account Executive is responsible for generating leads in assigned accounts as well as new accounts in the local market.  This position is responsible for the lead generation of the sales cycle and observing the rest of the sales cycle for learning purposes.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Be an effective listener and closer.*
  2. Utilize a consultative sales approach to explain our programs and services.*
  3. Manage your leads/calendar/time efficiently to ensure that all weekly/monthly sales goals are met.*
  4. Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails.*
  5. Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales executives for further development and closure.*
  6. Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest.*
  7. Maintain and expand your database of prospects within your assigned territory.*
  8. Developing target accounts based on market analysis and creating a sales plan for penetrating these client companies.*
  9. Creating new business relationships through all networking channels, including referrals, online networking, industry events and warm calls.*
  10. Actively participate in industry forums, networking events and speaking engagements to build awareness about WideNet and its services. Network always!*
  11. Update ongoing documentation in Salesforce.*
  12. Responsible for tracking weekly production activity and metrics.*
  13. Review sales activity on a weekly and monthly basis with department manager.*
  14. Prepare annual sales plans.*
  15. This position is an internal, full time role. Must be able to work assigned schedule and occasionally work extended hours as the business dictates.*

Language Ability: Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, Proficient computer, email, CRM and Internet use.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B. A. / B. S.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Specialized Training:

  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Sales or relevant field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience, call center or inside sales experience preferred.
